Recently, Zhengzhou Jingwei Technology Industry Co., Ltd. made another achievement in the field of non-ferrous metal science and technology, Jingwei Technology and Baotou Aluminum Industry, Shenyang Aluminum Magnesium Design Institute(SAMI), Baotou Aluminum Group jointly completed the technical achievements of "Aluminum electrolytic aluminum steel welding new technology equipment development and application", won the 2024 "Non-Ferrous Metal Industry Science and Technology Award" second prize. The award marks the high recognition of the industry association, review experts and peers for the technical innovation, industry leadership, application effect of the results, and research and development strength of the consortium.

    The project of "Development and Application of new technology equipment for electrolytic aluminum steel welding" invented the technology and complete equipment of steel and aluminum direct welding in the electrolytic aluminum industry for the first time in the world, which solved the "three high" problems of high welding cost, high cracking rate and high welding pressure drop existing in the traditional explosive welding block transition connection mode. And it also breaks through the problems of excessive intermetallic compounds, cracks and slag formation in the process of direct welding of steel and aluminum, and realizes the automation and intelligence of the whole welding process, which is a major technological change in the global electrolytic aluminum industry. The expert group led by academicians identified and evaluated that "the overall technology of the project has reached the international leading level".

    After industrial application, the result has good technical reproducibility and high maturity, has significant effects of energy saving, cost reduction and efficiency improvement, which makes significant economic and social benefits. It effectively replaces the traditional explosive welding block transition welding technology, promotes the scientific and technological progress of electrolytic aluminum industry.
